Nurture Your Own Inner Artist: Experiments in Creativity #22

Archetypal images of Mother and Child throughout History
Congratulations Lauren! As Lauren has just become a new Mom I thought it would be interesting for this experiment in creativity to create art around something that symbolizes the nurturing or mothering of your own inner artist/creative self.

Frida Kahlo, My Nurse and I, 1937
All the images in the post are just inspiration for this experiment.

As an artist I want you to visualize yourself as the baby in your internal mothers arms. How do you nurture your own creativity and what does that look like via art and process?

Looking forward to seeing what transpires.

As always, we encourage you all to join in and do this experiment. You can send the whole process or just the final result to artismoving@gmail.com

Thanks for adding to this important conversation!

Happy Creating
~ Lisa

Very interesting Experiment Lisa! It will be nice to take the role of the "baby" for a bit and see how that feels.

Right, I think at times we all forget that are inner artist needs to be cared for. Like Close said as an artist one needs to develop a thick skin, but you also need to foster that sensitivity and openness to expand. -Lisa
